My ED chances

like everyone else i got nothing better to do, so here it goes...

Pratt-early

1430 SAT I (800 M 630 V)
730 Physics
710 Math IIC
600 Writing (yeah i f-cked up)

4.1/4.5 (about 3.8-3.9 on 4.0 scale) and 5.3/6.0
my school doesnt rank, but i'd guess around top 10% of 130

decent class load, Jr year AP US and AP Calc AB (4 on Ap test) last year, all others honors
Sr year: AP Calc BC, AP Physics, AP Studio Art (submitted portfolio as par of my app...nothing spectacular, but hopefully that helps with versatility)

EC's...
4 Year Varsity Baseball, 4 letters, 2 year captain
Captain of Quiz Bowl Team
President of Alternatives Club (anti drug club)
Mock Trial Team
Volunteer Club
National Honor Society
Spanish National Honor Society
Teen Institute (judaic religious school...no anti semitic slurs please haha)
Township Municipal Alliance Committee

Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar (awarded by state of NJ)

Teacher rec's: good i would assume
Essays: average
decent interview

hopefully my EC's demonstrate enough leadership and my art portfolio will make up for my *****ty verbal and writing scores, and hopefully since i'm applying to pratt, it wont weigh as much

haha you being recruited by any schools for baseball? if we both get in we'll have to go play catch and talk about air resistence... .right..

im being recruited by bucknell & washington and lee for baseball.. but i dont know if i want to even play in college.. engineering + baseball = impossible

Your SAT's are average for Duke, so thats good. Whats even better is that Pratt weighs your math score more than your verbal, so it is good that you got an 800. I would assume that you are a good bet for getting in. Good Luck!

thanks guys,...and as far as baseball, no i'm def not getting recruited, i wish i was haha...my shots for playing at duke are slim to none,...maaaaybe maaaybe i could walk on at a small school but thats about it

as far as having a catch and talking about air resistance, awhile ago i found out yale had a course called, "the physics of baseball" and it really made me wanna go there, unfortunately i'm not quite at that caliber, but nevertheless maybe i'll just apply there for the hell of it and waste 70 bucks haha

Didn't they come out with a book called "The physics of Football"? I think I read that in Sports Illustrated. They said that the average amount of force an offensive line produces is something like 11,000N. Thats crazy. How would you find that out?

last year in calc i had to do an optimization project to find where a cut off man should stand in between the outfielder and home plate to get the shortest relay time...it was pretty complex

wow, we never did that in calc. My class was pretty simple, yet the homework was crazy hard.

NYYbaseball99...Yankee fan? Diehard right here:) I'm just assuming, with the whole NYY thing...

No faith for any local baseball teams, huh? Not saying that North Carolina has any good teams, since there are no professional ball teams in North Carolina (baseball i mean)

yeah, without turning this into a yankee board...those last two trades cashman pulled off were great...i'm convinced heredia is the worst pitcher in baseball, besides for that kid gonzalez from arizona...stanton can still be servicable, and lofton had no spot on the team, theyre prolly just clearing room for beltran

fe-rod just adds another good arm, and with karsay coming back we should have a pretty good pen, and if theyre thinking about trading gordon in a deal for randy, then fe-rod can take his spot

milton took a physical in tampa yesterday, i think he can be a back of the rotation guy but i just hope they dont overpay him

I have a big Yankee fan at school, and he decided not to come to school after the incident with Boston, it was pretty funny.

you started for 4 years and arent being recruited? is your school small?

haha yeah...130 in my class, 570 overall, theres this girl in my class that got recruited to play basketball at lafeyette...first kid to play at a D-1 school in any sport since the 80's haha

geeeez haha, my school has 1800... thats why i didnt start until i was a junior, 2nd basemen before me went to a D1 school... lol

just wondering, you ever played against shawn doolittle (all american from jersey that graduated last year)

nah, i never faced doolittle, but a friend of mine went to seton hall prep his freshman year and met eric duncan (1st pick by the yanks two years ago), he said duncan was a obnoxious d-ck haha, but if you're that good then you're allowed to be one

hahaha, so u know who doolittle is eh? i played with him at a camp.. he is a god.. now hes going to uva..

Let's remember who came back at beat the Yankees and went on to sweep the world series!!

cough choke *cough

I see we have a boston fan.

make that two <raises hand="">
patriots kicked butt today</raises>

Oh boy, I will be the Philly Fan then. The patriots did not kill the other team, such as 47-17, but hey. I'd rather have Donoven McNabb throwing 5 TD than Brady.
