My EFC is 0: good financial aid?

Hi, my EFC is 0 (I'm independent of my parents), so does that mean I should expect good financial aid? I've heard great things about AccessUVA. I sure hope UVA is need-blind, because otherwise I've got no chance...

i dont know what efc is...but i do know that when i was a first year, someone on my hall was independant from his parents - and he received complete aid on all costs.

EFC = Expected Family Contribution. I am expected to contribute $0. That's really cool to hear about the person in your res. hall.

How exactly does it work to be independent from one's parents? This sounds interesting...

trust me - its not worth the effort - you pretty much need to be an orphan if you're under 24

I'm actually under 24, but was born before Jan. 1, 1983 (which is what made me independent). I turn 24 this fall. Pretty sweet deal.

Hey Silence,
