<p>I completed high school in 2006 but i'm applying for admission in fall 2007. On the website it says that candidates who have taken a gap of more than one year should apply to the school of general studies, does that exclude me from applying to columbia college? because no other college has a rule of that sort.</p>

<p>That's not a gap of more than one year. It's just one year ( they mean whole school years, not summer, i"m sure. Otherwise, no one could take a gap year.)</p>
