Hello, I am a high school Junior, and in school we are starting to write our college essays. I have a serious question, which topic should I choose.

The summer before entering high school, I was diagnosed with ADHD, and when I was younger I had a very hard time maintaing focus in school. When I found this out, I realized I had to put in the extra focus, determination, and persevere through my ADHD. I have done this, and have never requested extra time for tests, in school and out of school(SAT, ACT). I feel that by writing about this would bea strong essay.

I was a sophmore on the high school swim team. It was a Sunday night over Thanksgiving break, and our first meet was the following Tuesday. I get a call at 3 AM saying our team captain was in a serious car accidnt and was being rushed to the emergency room. While I was in the ER, I anxiously waited news on his condition. His mother rushed out crying that he did not make it. This was a very tough time for me, and being such a yound member of the team, we had no leader. This was when me, and my 2 friends decided to step up. We saw our coach and took on his role as a leader. We honored him at every meet, and tried our hardest to make sure we did what he wanted us to do. This year, our coach awarded th three of us the position of Captain because of what we did the year before. This had a lasting impression on my life and learned me how to fight and step up to the plate at a difficult time.
