My essay is cut off in the preview!

I finished editing my last essay and went to preview the supplement. A large portion of my second essay was cut off, yet the other two were fine. I'm within the character limit so I don't see any reason why it shouldn't fit. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Will they still be able to read it when they actually download it? I would call them and ask but the Stanford admissions office is empty until the 4th. =/ Did this happen to anyone else?

whoa really O.O
mine was 1796 chars and it looks like 7 more lines could fit between the last line and where it goes "2 of 4 | 2008-2009 commonapp"

but interestingly enough...when it was at 1799 chars, common app wouldn't let me save it

Yeah the other two essays have quite a bit of room left even though they're roughly the same size. =[ Silly common app. If it weren't for this I would have already applied to Stanford!

yeah, even though i was at 1794 Common App wouldn't let me save. I had to whittle down to 1780-something before i could save it.

I have a good 100 characters left for the essay and I'm able to save but it's still cut off. The first essay has roughly the same number of characters but it isn't cut off.

I think it might be the number of lines. But there's really not a whole lot I can cut out...I tried eliminating the spaces between paragraphs and the whole thing showed up. But it looks extremely stupid or like I don't know how to format an essay. Yipes. What's the point of having a character limit if you adhere to it AND IT STILL DOESN'T SHOW UP?

I think the problem may be that the Common App considers a line break a character as well. Cut more characters.

The last two lines of my roommate essay were cut off in the preview, but apparently the adcoms were still able to read it (when I talked to the one for my region, she commented on the meaning of the beginning of the essay--the only way she'd know about it is if she was able to read those last two lines).

each space counts as two characters. I had that problem too. I tried taking out the spaces, but then it looked terrible, so i just shortened a few lines from the paragraphs that had shorter last lines...
