...for me to show my teachers. I need someone to revise and edit it though. What should I do?

Close friends/relatives?

Hmm... careful with those deeply personal essays. They shouldn't be so personal that they make you too uncomfortable to share them with people.

Otherwise, just put it down for a while and re-read it a month later. I don't like asking people to correct mine (I don't think they care to, and then they're really sloppy). Soo normally, I put it aside. That way, when I pick it up again, it's like I'm reading it for the first time. Much easier to catch mistakes.

I agree with ceecee's method.

If you trust someone via the internet and are comfortable sharing with a stranger (or college admissions officer, for that matter), I'll be happy to proof it via PM.

I don't want you to get the wrong idea. It's not REALLY personal..I just don't like to share anything with teachers other than academic-related things. I think it would be easier to show people that don't know me--especially since they will be much more objective. I've PMed a couple people another essay that I wrote, but nobody ever responded. :(

Try a former teacher; one who will not have you in class this year, a middle school teacher or even one who may have left the school.

PM me, I'll read and critique it for you.

sure, PM it to me. Would you mind reading my essay too? I'm also having that problem, it's a little (but not too) personal.

i'll read it if you like. pm me

Too personal for teachers? ... Give it to strangers! PM it!

PM me dude.

PM it to me as well. I'll happily read it. highheels, we could switch essays as well. I have a problem also...but it's just that my essay sucks and I'm stuck. :)
