Hello!
Okay so I have actually succeeded in cutting my Common App essay down from 700 words to right now 666, which still needs about 20 words to be cut. The problem is, I now have absolutely no idea which part to continue deleting. So, is anyone willing to read my essay and give suggestion? Thank you!

bump?

Do you have any useless platitudes at the beginning or the end? It’s usually easier to avoid choppiness if you take out entire sentences rather than words here and there.

@halcyonheather what do you mean by that emoji? ._. can you take a look at my essay?

You can PM me I can suggest

Read it out loud to yourself. Hearing it is one of best ways to check for flow. Maybe combine several thoughts into one sentence or listen to see if one paragraph, etc is slightly off topic and can be left out without affecting the main points. You should be able to figure it out! Good luck.

Bump! Anyone else has time to help? I want as many feedbacks as possible
Thank you so much!

seriously…have you tried reading it aloud to yourself? that helped me to delete ~60 words from my essay. I could also help if you deem me worthy…

Count me in…I helped students cut down their essay by 120 words :)

@seanninsing yes i have, and i also need comments on the theme/subject, so…
@master1006 Thank you. i appreciate your offering to help but i think i would prefer someone at least not applying this year.

Lol If you aren’t in IL, I won’t copy it

If you still need help, I’ll gladly look it over!
