i wanted to write an essay about an emergency i responded to with EMS
there are 2 that really changed my view on life and 1 was a stroke and the other was a bad car accident in which a 12 yr old died.
The car accident is pretty graphic but i feel it will really be an interesting essay, as will the stroke victim whos life we saved, but i just think the car accident would be more interesting to write about.
However, the accident doesnt exactly have a happy ending, because as i said the 12 yr old died and his mother asked me how her son was, when i knew the truth. This made us all kinda reflect and ask ourselves if the medical field was really for us. Thats why i think it would be a good essay. But again its quite sad and graphic (id tone it down in the essay to make it appropriate)
Now the stroke is a happy ending, we saved the mans life, but compared to the car accident, it didnt have as much of a profound impact on me and my crew.
What would you guys choose to write about if u were me?

I was also thinking about attached the newspaper clipping of the car accident if i wrote about it

Do whatever you want. It doesn't really matter what the essay is about--it's all about how well you tell the story.

yea but what im sayin is, do u think the car accident will be kind of morbid?

Not if you tell the story well and make the message clear. Focus on YOU, not the dead boy.

u think i should attach a clipping of the story from the paper?

Eh, I'm not sure. The story shouldn't be about the dead boy--it really should focus on you. The biggest mistake you could make would be to focus entirely on the accident itself and not on what it revealed about you as a person.

At the same time, though, a newspaper story would definately be eye-catching and could help you out. As long as you avoid the caveat I mentioned in the above paragraph, I say go for it.

na i wouldnt...it would to be more of a validation that im not just making it up for a good essay
