<p>Tell your Dad that you are thinking of enlisting in the Army after high school. Tell him that a couple of years fighting terrorists and earning money for college might help you get the better perspective he's looking for. Maybe have the recruiter come to your house. </p>
<p>From the picture you have described, it sounds like that after a couple of months of that your Dad will stop bugging you and let you go anywhere you want.</p>
<p>Seriously though, with your scores and EC's you might want to consider one of the US Service Academies. I would suggest particularly, The US Merchant Marine Academy because it provides very broad options after graduation beyond simply active duty.</p>
