Best: 100 Days of Solitude, worst: the Crucible (play) worst ending ever!

Gone with the Wind!!! I reread it every summer, and I fall in love with Rhett again every summer! I also love the movie! Clark Gable is soooo dreamy!

^^^ It was really slow and boring. It had some interesting parts, and it also had a lot of themes, but I thought it wasn’t very entertaining. Also, it’s not all that terrible, but I don’t read that many bad books, so it’s relatively bad.
I heard her other books were good, but to me, that one isn’t.

Best: Twilight series or HP.
Worst: Recently, Mythology by Edith Hamilton.

^ Ugghh- loved Mythology

You can add nonfiction ones too- Guns, Germs, and Steel

The educational movie for Guns, Germs, and Steel was the most epic thing ever

^ I’ve been meaning to read that one!

I really liked 100 Years of Solitude.
Most things by Poe are pretty good too.
I like HP, it’s not the best, but it’s good.
Oh, and I really, really liked the Uglies series.

I am generally disappointed by Jodi Picoult’s books. What the whole conflict is about is somewhat interesting but she writes the line of
“you love to read and argue you should be a lawyer”
in every book. Which makes it cliche.
And the books just doesn’t feel, whole.

For US history, the best is Howard Zinn’s A People’s History

^^^^I haven’t seen the movie, ill definitely watch it though

^ It gave me at least 5 inside jokes. It was certainly worth it.

And it’s narrated by Jared Diamond himself, so yeah

The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro. I never would’ve thought a book about an English butler could be so powerful

I feel stupid. :(

^ Why?

Either:
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini or
Complications by Atul Gawande

I posted on the wrong thread hahaha! I wanted to post that in the random things thread. I just finished an assignment and I had to have help on all 10 problems. So that’s why I feel stupid.

Since I’ve posted here already, my favorite book is probably ‘A Brave New World.’ I really like the world that Huxley created except the part about genetically creating babies, taking stoma to null away the pain, and being subjects under some leader.

For less “sophisticated” reading I love Hunter S Thompson’s stuff.

*worst: the Crucible (play) worst ending ever! *

What alternative ending would you have preferred?

The hangees start whooping on the hangers.
