My Favorite Hopkins Video

I found this on their YouTube Channel.

"Inside Richard Mackseys house, books are literally everywhere. They stretch from floor to ceiling, filling the house and spilling into the garage. For over half a century, Macksey has inspired his students at Johns Hopkins, stirring in them a love of literature and the arts. Comprising more than *70,000 books *, a large collection of manuscripts, and some art works all worth an estimated $4 million, Macksey has bequeathed his entire collection to the Johns Hopkins Sheridan Libraries."

There are some other videos on there too but this is one of my favorites.

This is actually featured on Hopkins main website.

To any current Hopkins students, if you every get the chance to take a class with Dr. Macksey, jump on it! I’m not sure how much longer he’ll be teaching before he fully retires. I was convinced to take one of his class by a friend who had taken it the semester before, and as a BME major, I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into in a 300-level English class, but I can say now that it was probably the best class I took at Hopkins and Dr. Macksey is one of the best professors I had in my four years. He has an immense knowledge of everything, whether its musical theory or medical research, and he can make all sorts of these connections and references off the top of his head. His class is entirely discussion based and it’s a fascinating experience going to his house once a week for class.
