My feet don't hurt anymore best advice CC gave me but I was out with the cold for 3 1/2 weeks

I resent that you are receiving Federal dollars for your education, and you buy a surplus of socks because you don’t want to buy some laundry soap to wash a couple of pairs of socks!
Your fraudulent spending is going to catch up with you.

Just curious…where would one even store 100 pairs of compression socks. I have a drawer that has maybe 15 pairs of socks in it…and it’s pretty full.

I’m a communications specialist. It is my opinion that communication suffered a bit while folks wore masks all the time. So much of our communication is not the words spoken but includes facial expressions, inflection, etc. Much of this was dampened with mask wearing.

You want to enter a profession where you will be around sick people much if the time. Right? But you also are entering a profession where your ability to communicate positively is essential.

Are you sure nursing is where you belong?

Where did this theory come from?

I bought the socks with my credit card.

I have 8 closets in my home they are super huge. Why is everyone concerned about my storage spacing

I have my own house and a job for now.

Why is everyone concerned about my financial status :stuck_out_tongue:

Such negativity not my fault you can’t afford 100 pairs.

I should not reply no more to no one no more, everyone is nosy, and a stranger.

That’s a good question, but once I start something I have to finish till the end.

Only reason I bought 100 pairs is cause my socks cause they rip quickly, I’m always bear foot outside with socks, so that’s why they rip.

What does my FAFSA application have to do with my credit cards.
I’m always truthful on my apps.

@napnemeanix,This thread spiraled rather quickly.

To refocus back to your original question -

If you missed 3.5 weeks of a summer class ( or even a regular semester) it will be very hard to catch up or teach yourself the content. Your professor may be able to give you an incomplete in the course as a grade and give you time to complete the assignment and test later, but you need to request that. Request the appropriate accommodations based on the situation. Did you communicate with them during that time?

Concerning the idea of finishing what you start - that is more about not quitting little league as a child after you make a team or commitments someone makes to help others, but does not apply in this case. There are very clear signs that nursing is not for you and that you do not want to be a nurse.

Part of adulting is reassessing midstream and not continuing to do something that is not helping you personally or professionally. Go talk to career counseling and you advisor. If your college uses degree works you can play with the “what if “ feature to change majors. Some colleges have a BA or BS in General Studies. Maybe you can just knock that out and move on.

You have legitimate health concerns that have been diagnosed recently. You need to take care of yourself. And yes, people are free to spend money on whatever they want to, but buying excessively on credit cards will not help you and can be signs of other concerns. Understand that some of the reactions to those purchases are from hard working people trying to help you. Someone else is paying the taxes for you to have those Pell grants. Someone else is paying move for credit when people have to file for bankruptcy ( not saying you have or you will, but it happens). So people take those actions personally sometimes.

Rest up, refocus on your health, communicate with your professors, and set new career goals. And get down to one mini Pepsi a day

I agree that your FAFSA doesn’t have anything to do with your credit cards if you answer the FAFSA truthfully, and based on your previous posts, I was sure that you were always truthful on your apps.

I think the connection that people are drawing is that if you are someone with a Pell Grant, then you are likely not someone who should be maxing out a credit card to purchase 100 pairs of expensive socks, when for most people, 5-10 pairs would be sufficient. I recall now that you had posted earlier that you have stopped wearing shoes, so once you explained that your socks are getting torn when worn outside, it makes sense in that circumstance that you would need many pairs. But…again…most people don’t stop wearing shoes outside, regardless of foot pain. They will instead research shoes or sandals that are more comfortable than their current shoes, so that they can continue to wear shoes outside and also so that they will not ruin multiple pairs of expensive socks in quick succession.

Regardless, I hope you are feeling better soon!

The hiking shoes I’ve been wearing was the cause and those insoles I had, it’s like wearing high heels and going hiking, I wore flat shoes with new insoles and issue solved.

Anything that’s closed and flat is comfortable and no more foot pain, plus those compression socks are very comfy.

You don’t need to spend $1000 on socks that won’t last if you walk barefoot. You can go to a store (typically a running shoe store) that has equipment to watch your gait, whether you pronate when you walk, etc, and can then fit you with a good shoe. They won’t be cheap, but they are less than $1000!. @Knowsstuff , advise this poster how else they can find appropriate fitting shoes for being on their feet all day.

I’d like to see a photo of the hundred pairs of socks.

Then you don’t need 100 pairs of compression socks.

All you’ll see if my last repayment of the 1k I spent and that’s all.

@napnemeanix I encourage you to start a new thread about academic issues. You’ll get more helpful advice that way. You’re missing out on a lot of well informed users with this particular thread. Try giving a little more specific info in your title if you start a new thread.
