You guys think this is terrible, avg., or good?

You have over $9000 in loans. That is well above the average for Case. I gind it odd that you got a FSEOG but no pell grant. Perhpa you could call finacial aid and petition for a smaller amount of loans.

I'm not sure what I've done wrong, but everyone seems to be qualifying for so much more aid than me. I finally got my financial aid award to show up online, but I've received only the following:

My family's income isn't much higher than the median household income, so why is it that I'm not awarded much else? I just can't understand how this is working out to be way less than what I expected. I figured that the Trustee's Scholarship was a merit scholarship and would go toward what my family had to pay, not part of my financial aid package... If we didn't get that award, would we get supplemental aid in another flavor? If that is the case, then how is it awarding our merits?

Gah, can you tell I'm a bit miffed? If anyone can point me to a helpful resource to shed some light on this, I'd be most appreciative.

well, I think that if you didn't get the scholarship you might have gotteb about the same aid but a whole bunch more of it would have been loans, which basically suck

$9,000 in loans means you're paying room and board. It's not a free ride, but full tuition at a school like case is nothing to sneeze at, either. :)

Yeah 9000 loans + 4000 out of pocket. Loans worry me most. I think I would have preferred less loans and more out of pocket. I'm visiting on April 1st.
