So far I've recieved fin. aid packages from two diff schools but they were completly different as far as the amount goes. Both packages do not include any scholarships. I recieved 13,500 from one school and nearly 42,000 from another. Would it be possible that there was a mistake? Can schools match fin aid packages or could you possibly work something out with the school? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Where did you apply? Small private schools? Instate? Large universities with huge endowments? Financial aid packages are based on need, merit, and money available. Quite easy to realize how one school can offer so much more than the other.

And don't forget that finaid packages are also based on cost of attendance. A school that only costs $18,000 per year (instate public) will not be giving $42K a year awards.

Thanks sorry for not providing more info. It's Fordham and Loyola College in Maryland. They're both private, Jesuit, and cost about the same. Fordham's a little more expensive and they're the school that gave less. They're so similar, that's why I found it strange.
