<p>I’m going to agree with Jersey, but I would put HS at low reach for you. I think your best stats are the fact that you have grown in up the circumstances you’ve explained. HS looks specifically for people like you, who are different from the norm. I think they could very well see you as an asset to their schools, and I think the context of your childhood magnifies your already strong credentials. Best of luck in the process! :D</p>

<p>Agree with alexissss 100%. And since you specifically asked again about Duke, I think you have a very good shot there, and if accepted I would bet you’ll be offered financial aid (I would literally make a monetary bet on this, I’m so sure of it).</p>
<p>One more school to consider: Tulane. It’s a top 50 school with great research and massive amounts of financial aid.</p>
