Are my aims too high? Please be honest with your critiquing.

I think that you have a pretty fair shot at Johns Hopkins ED… A rep came and talked to our school today and said there is about a 50% chance of admission with Early decision. Your grades seem fine, and I think as long as your essay and recs are okay you should get in. But of course, it depends on how many people apply, their stats of course!

Chance me back?

Agree you have a fair chance at Hopkins ED. The ivies will be tough unless you’re from Alaska. You read like so many applicants–high math score but below median CR score, Asian and I think from CA. For Stanford, Columbia, Brown–I think you’d have to be val or sal. A truly standout application might help you at Penn and Cornell IMO.

Thanks for the Quick Response, uaemily and hmom, I really appreciate it. Any more chances?

You have a strong chance at JHU ED. You’re academics are solid and you’re EC’s are okay. Overall just work one essays and app. Columbia + Stanford + U-Penn are high reaches, the others are attainable. Good luck!!

Bump, chanced those who asked for it.

I personally think you have a 50+% chance of getting into all your schools, with UPenn presenting the most challenge. Your regular standardized test scores aren’t quite up to what i feel like guarantees UPenn, however your extracurriculars will definitely boost you.

oh on just an observational note… your essays sound boring. i’m sure someone as smart as it seems like you are will have some way to spice them up tho.

chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/780607-chance-me-vanderbilt-emory-wake-forest.html#post1063250698

oh sorry, i didn’t even see columbia and stanford… those are also high reaches for anyone, but i think you have as fair a chance as penn. have you considered insanely studying for SAT/ACT and taking it again?
