Totally what I expected. I might appeal for a bit more.

LSP Scholarship 7 500,00
LSP Eckhouse Scholarship 6 000,00
LSP Provost's Grant 4 000,00
Early Decision Pell Grant 5 550,00
Early Decision Work Study 3 000,00
Early Decision Perkins Loan 2 400,00
Early Decision Stafford 3 500,00
Early Decision Unsub 2 000,00
Early Decision PLUS 21 590,00

They gave me 23,000 and the rest (30,000) in loans.

I am not sure either, but I am sure they both have to be paid back. They probably differ in rules as to when to pay back or whatever. I’ll try to do some research

The PLUS Loan is for your parents, they have to apply for it, and be approved for it.
If they are interested in borrowing that much for one year at NYU.

I just got loan offers and the 4,000 scholarship… why are there no grants? I certainly am MORE than eligible. I’ll also do work study, which is 3,000… but I still don’t understand why I didn’t get any grant offers!

Is something wrong, or is it just because we haven’t filed a FAFSA yet?
Should we contact the Financial Aid office and appeal?

I understand that applying ED doesn’t get you much money, and I know NYU isn’t the greatest with NYU, but I was certainly expecting more than $4,000! Especially since the poster, fhasleroth, got $23,000!

I’m very confused. Shouldn’t I have more scholarship and grant offerings? Even just a couple thousand more!?

I’ll be going regardless and we’ll somehow manage with the money… but $4,000!!! Seriously, is something wrong or should we appeal?

Yes, contact them and ask them why you didn’t receive any grants. If you say you are more than eligible (which means EFC of 0) than I would contact them.

I look on ALBERT everyday and they still have not given me my financial aid. It just says “Award access not available.” I will be calling tomorrow. I need a lot more than $4,000 to be able to go…

I checked it like an hour ago. and clicked the financial aid summary. I did turn the application in the first day it was available, so maybe that put me on top of the pile. Try calling tomorrow, I doubt they’re still open now.
