my first post EVER. chances at competitive schools?

just trying to figure out if my list is realistic...

my list:
columbia
uva (In State)
brown
William&Mary (In State)
yale
upenn
northwestern

thanks in advance :)

In everywhere.

I would be extremely surprised if any of those schools rejected you.

Good everything, but weaker/non-outstanding EC's. But the other factors minimalize that and help your chances greatly.

african american female...thats all i needed to read. AA ftw

Yeah in everywhere...affirmative action sigh

Yup. AA is your greatest EC/hook. As long as your grades are okay and your SATs in their range, you have a good chance.

I want to echo the other posts in saying that AA will help you secure a spot, but I don't want to say it ends there. Even without AA, yo would have been a perfectly viable candidate. Your race just adds a small boost that moves chances from, say, 30-40% (b/c hyper-competitive) to 60-70% at most of those schools.
