My first post~

Hey I am new in here, very happy to meet you guys.
As an international Chinese female applicant, I am considering not only what kinds of schools that suit me well but also which one can fully meet my financial need(my family can only contribute up to $10000).
my SAT score: 700V, 800M, 730W Toefl: 637 twe:5
Class Rank:top15% GPA3.8

ECs: student journalist of a newspaper(5 years),
journalist in school TV station,
chief editor of class magazine(2 years)
selected as a member of student delegation to attend the conference for "exploring and protecting world cultrural heritages" in UNESCO,
selected by the Royal Thai Embassy of China as one of ten students to visit Thailand to promote the "sister school project",

group leader of an investigative survey task,
class sport minister and school long-jump champion for 3 years
participate in the "DV exchange communication plan" between CN and US high school students
partner reasercher of a national level task,
6 years of Chinese painting courses,

intended fields: biology, physics, environmental studies

I have searched a lot of information sources online and finally focus on these schools:
EDI:Lafayette
EDII:Reed
RD:Trinity, Swarthmore, MIT, Vanderbilt, Duke, Gettysburg, Baylor(TX), (dreaming Princeton)

I don't care much about the prestige or rank of a school but finacial aid and my interest. I'd prefer smaller towns or suburban areas to metropolitan cities.
While time is limited, I have to devote much of my vigor to high school courses to prepare for the Chinese College Entrance Exam. Sometimes I feel frustrated by the double burden and even want to quit, but I know I have to hold on to it. So please give me some pieces of advice about the schools I chosen and other aspects. THANK YOU!

You have an excellent shot at Lafayette. They are also very generous with scholarships, so that should definitely help! Best of luck.

I suggest you take a look at Connecticut College- it is pretty much the same school as Trinity, and they gave me a $25,000 merit grant per year, even though my family could have contributed more than we did, and my SAT scores weren't as good as yours.
Also, they really like international students from East Asia.

You know im pretty sure it's easier to get into MIT than princeton....

Thank you for your messages!
