Then he put the pics on Facebook and recorded a video of him opening the unopened package. Imagine if it had a bad ending... would we still have seen the video?

Congrats to him though.

Funny, I thought the acceptances hadn't come out yet. -goes to read "Regular Decision" thread-

Very funny indeed given that for decades, H has abided by the joint-ivy notification date of Mar 31. Frankly, I'm suspicious.

Baloney, I think.

lol no

Too cocky.

lol troll..... or just that the OP's friend is a joker

could be recruited athlete....

Any reason to expect official admission letters (as contrasted with likely letters) come out early for any applicants?

token:

Perhaps the OP's friend only recieved a likely, which if given to a recruited athlete, has the "effect of of a formal letter of admission..."

Also, I thought I had read somewhere that an Ivy could issue a formal acceptance to an athlete who had an athletic scholarship offer pending from another D1 uni (but perhaps I was dreaming that part).

Impossible. After the 15th of march the ivys have a written agreement not to contact any of the applicants. If he was recurited he could have heard before the 15th but not after.

perhaps the applicant just got around to mailing in his athletic Letter of Intent?

Hmm, this isnt really possible...Prank or troll.

actually...i heard something bout harvard around my school too. i thought it was a late likely or something..

We don't like trolls on College Confidential, brah.

beyond cocky...

Should I call him out for it? I dont want to look like an idiot if he really does get accepted on the 31st.

That's kind of an awkward situation. I'm positive the Ivies don't release decisions until the 31st, and they don't mail decisions until around April 1st... and to reiterate what someone said earlier, the Ivies aren't supposed to contact any applicants after the 15th (until the applicants read their final decisions)...

Could he be lying?

I think your acquaintance lied but I wouldn't call him out on it. Frankly it reminds me of Kevin Hart
