My friend needs help

He's currently senior, an engineering student about to graduate in a year. He's had bad depression in his years and currently has 4 F's, 5 D's, and 5 W's. His gpa is around 2.4 right now and he's never had any internships before either.

Is this really gonna kill his chance at getting a job? Any advice to help him out?

It might be worth investigating if he could do a coop program before he graduates so he has some experience.
I would think no experience + low GPA = slim pickings.

He had 1 part time job and a volunteering experience. Skills wise, he put autocad, creo, solidworks, java, matlab (it’s not like he excels in using these, but he does remember how to use them based on what he’s learned in class).

He actually did that and just got a reply saying that his gpa is not high enough (I don’t know about other school but ours have gpa requirement to apply for co-op).
