My friend's chances at Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, UPenn, UMich?

My friend recently asked me to make a “What are my chances?” thread for him (he is a pussy).

His stats are below:

Preppy-Catholic High School in Upstate New York
GPA : 4.0 (aka 95/100)
Rank: na/223, probably top 10%
SAT Scores: 2330 Superscore (800M, 750CR, 780W), highest single test date 2210 (800M, 710CR, 700W)
ACT: didn’t take
SAT Subject: didn’t take yet, looking at M2 and Physics (hopefully 750 above for both)
APs: Euro (5), US (5), BC (5), EnLit (3)
Senior Year course load: AP Gov, AP Lang, AP Physics C, Calc 3, Linear Algebra, Comparative Religion (DE at local university for last three)

Your friend has great stats but all of the schools he is applying for are difficult to get in.
Cal: low reach
UMich: high match (LSA) low reach (CoE)
CMU: low reach
UPenn: low reach

He will certainly get into several of them, but he is applying to the most selective program at Cal and CMU.

UMich does not superscore, but his CR+M is good. LSA should be a high match and CoE is low reach.
