My friends interview

@wolfmanjack: I’m not going to apologize for my opinions, but I must clarify that I never posed as an admissions expert. Short of placing a disclaimer at the end of my posts or diluting my sense of assertiveness, there’s little I can do to ‘prove’ I am a high school senior (or rather, a recent graduate), and frankly, there’s little need for me to do so; look around you: a large majority of actives on these boards are HS juniors and seniors.

I don’t claim to know everything, and much of what I post here on CC is reflective of conversations I’ve had with people within the admissions machinery or of the collective wisdom I’ve found on these boards over the past three years or of personal experience. And never do I attempt to assert myself as the definitive source or someone who knows all the answers.

@fredmurtz2: One, I don’t consider myself upper-class and two:

I know this because I have a overprotective and paranoid mother myself and it’s helped that I try and maintain a comfortable sense of distance.

I could have pointed out some fuzzy logic but instead I’ll just say tone down the assertiveness b/c some of your facts are not…factual. This could be the culprit: "collective wisdom I’ve found on these boards " :)

Either way, you’ve gotten the attention of a FEW people as being -as stated above-, so you might consider our separate opinions as pointing to something.

That is a hilarious story…but yeah, I really feel sorry for your friend. That makes me SOOO much more thankful for parents that I have! What is your friend’s mom going to do when she leaves for college and moves away from home???

I am really starting to get tired of CC and all this college insanity.
