Since things have switched from blackboard to the my.fsu thing I noticed that they do not send out emails letting you know charges have been posted to your account. Also they have this thing that says "activity" and it's supposed to be details about charges. The thing is I got two charges posted that are already late (bc I was some how supposed to know I was going to have charges to my acct). There are two charges that barely have a description and they make no sense whatsoever. I never got help at the Uni Health Centers Psychiatry area yet I am getting charges over $200 for this. I was in Tally over the summer and had health insurance...I only saw a nutritionist a couple of times.
I am not even in Tallahassee (left at the end of July... withdrew from classes then) and am taking a semester off so what is this BS?
I have to wait until tomorrow morning to get some explanation. Yay ill get to spend over 2 hours on hold!
Also the way they handle FA seems worse. They won't even let me know of they received my documents. Why can't they just get it together!

The new system is really, really bad at details when it comes to your account statement. Add to it that it apparently tracks all the classes you add and then later drop, so you’ll see all these additions and subtractions (instead of just what you are currently registered for) and it’s even more confusing.

It’s possible that if you saw someone, your health insurance kicked any charges back to the providers at FSU for some reason. Health insurance companies will often deny a claim by providers for any reason they can. If your insurance rejected anything, it’s possible that FSU passed the charge down to you.

I know you probably don’t want to, but it looks like your only option is to simply call them up and ask. Surprisingly, among all of the departments I had to call last week due to the system being idiotic beyond belief (I had 4 holds on my registration, none of which were actually supposed to be there) I didn’t ever have to wait. Maybe you’ll get lucky too when you call.

thanks for the response!
I logged in again now just to check before I call them up. They deducted the charges and they are removed.
What a relief. I am not really liking this new system, but I am glad to see those charges vanish.
Now if only they could sort out my FA stuff.

If you have the time, you might still want to call Student Financial Services and just be like “I had these charges on my account, and they suddenly disappeared… the hell’s going on here?” because you don’t want them to reappear in the future.

The whole transition to myFSU has soured seemingly everyone. Like I said, I had 4 holds on my registration for classes this semester, and had to make over half a dozen phone calls (not including being transferred three times during those calls) to simply get things fixed. And apparently this isn’t an issue that’s only impacting a few people; the person that finally took care of the last hold told me that almost all new grad students that went here for undergrad were having the same hold posted to their account thanks to the system change.

Good luck on the financial aid stuff. That’s one department I hope to never have to deal with again…

Yeah the FA stuff still hasn’t been corrected and I also found out that there was a huge error with my insurance over the summer.
They really are not bothering with me because I’m not currently enrolled which is really irking me because I’m still a student here. I will have to waste a day driving there to sort out getting my money back bc of the insurance error and trying to get them to admit they have not sent of my FA stuff. They blatantly ignored my emails, so I guess I should just call up because I’m sure they aren’t being hounded as much now.
