Well after watching college football all day, I have realized that I want to be in a crazy college football school environment. Just watching the stands go crazy, and all of the excitement and tailgating is just amazing. I really can't imagine myself at a school that doesn't offer this type of scene. (However I'm still applying to Pepperdine and LMU).

So I'm looking for some suggestions. I have a 3.4UW/3.7W, 24 ACT, and I'm in the Top 10% of my class. I plan on majoring in business or communications. I am also interested in sports management and meteorology. I either want beach weather or 4 seasons. (warm summers, snowy winters, etc.). The campus has to be amazing, and the students have to be chill and laid-back. I would prefer a party school atmosphere, and a decent greek scene. I want either urban (or close to a major city)....or I want the school to be in a college town.

I know it's easy to pick out schools that have great football scenes, but for me...I still want decent academics.

I have already applied to Indiana and Florida State, but I'm looking for more options.

University of Oklahoma for Meteoroly. Sports managment, University of Miami,University of Cincinnati, Ohio State and Penn State for other majors, although some may have meteorology too. Florida State for Football. Any large school. Just take a look at the top 25 rated schools.

With a 3.4 and 24 ACT, plus OOS status, Wisconsin and Michigan would be definite reaches.

OSU, Penn State, Oklahoma should give you a good chance though.
How about Clemson? I've seen it compared to Florida State, and it's right on the water.

You should definitely consider Penn State. I went to a football game their and was blown away. They even do this thing called "white out" for big matches and they all wear white...it's pretty impressive if you see pictures.

Good luck!

PS- Penn State is in the middle of nowhere, but it's basically it's own city with 30,000 students.

Bro look into penn state, i know when I first joined me and you had similar interest and it doesn't look like its changed. Penn state is basically a city of students in the middle of nowhere where all you do is party through the night wake up and learn during hte day. Penn state also is a very respected school, and even here in NY/NJ people respect the name.

University of Nebraska (Fits all of your criteria)
University of Kansas (though much more of a basketball school)
University of Iowa
University of Colorado-Boulder (though football takes a backseat to partying/drugs and the Greek system has some issues)
University of Arkansas (weather doesn't fit completely)
Arizona State University

Any school in the SEC with the exception of Vanderbilt and Florida will probably let you in. Again, like Arkansas, weather isn't a complete match at all of the schools, but decent. If you want Greek scene go to Ole Miss, Alabama or Georgia. Kentucky despite their success is a basketball school.

University of Miami -- My #1 Choice. It's the greatest school in the world.

Indiana University Bloomington and Florida State University -- I have already applied to these schools, and they are my favorite big-time sports schools.

Pepperdine and LMU -- Although they don't have the sports scene I want, their location, weather, beaches, student body, campus, proximity to LA, all make up for it.

San Diego State - I love the SD Chargers, and the instate tuition is amazing.

So right now I'm looking at adding one or two more schools. I really like Wake Forest and Boston College, however I know they are huge reaches...So I'm only looking to add one of those. Where do you think I have the best chance? Which school will take essays, ec's, rec's, and other stuff into major consideration?

I also retook the SAT, and I'm pretty sure I raised my scores....I'll find out later this month.

And lastly I'm looking for one more crazy public school. At Indiana if I can raise my SAT scores I will most likely get a scholarship (that's what an admissions counselor told me). And at FSU OOS Tuition is cheaper compared to most others. So they can possibly be options for me. However a school like Penn State where I have a 0% chance for a scholarship is not worth it over SDSU.

So right now I'm looking into Washington State, ASU, and Oregon State. And I also heard that Clemson has OOS tuition waivers if you qualify for a scholarship...(I'm hoping my new SAT scores will qualify me). So are there any other schools that offer stuff like this, but still have a crazy football scene?

If you want to pick from one of the two, Wake Forest is probably the better option. It's significantly easier to get into than BC. Wake is also looking to diversify, so being from California would help.

Of the others, ASU would be a good bet. It definitely fits the "crazy party school" criteria, and as it's near a major city, there's also plenty to do off-campus as well. Clemson could also be a good choice.

I'd avoid Oregon State though. It's a good school, but very agriculture and engineering focused, and extremely liberal (I recall you saying on another post that you prefer a more conservative atmosphere).

Yeah I just looked up OSU and you're right. I don't think it's the right school for me. And I'm also positive I'm applying to Wake Forest (I already started the application).

So now I'm trying to find one more school. Right now my top choices are Washington State, ASU, and Clemson.

I've looked into USF, but FSU seems like a much better school...and I'll find out if I get into FSU on Nov. 28th.
