she says it's school policy not to check the highest boxes. but i'm taking the toughest hardest most-easily-screwed combination of subjects and the maximum allowed in any one combination at any one time!

Sigh ... might be time to have one of your parents chat with the GC. You're not likely to win this one on your own. Print an article or two out discussing Chicago's academic rigor, and carefully explain that they want to be assured that their students can deal with a 'most demanding' schedule.

That seems like a very irrational policy on the school's part...do you attend a public school?

I doubt very much that what the gc marks on her report will make or break your application. if you want to use that as the basis for your excuse for not getting in, that's fine. like most adcoms like to say when asked if it is better to get a "b" in an ap class or an "a" in a regular class? adcom says: get an "a" in the ap class. just get "a"'s in your classes, score 2200+ on the sat's, write good essays and you should be golden.

i spoke to the principal of the school, this time i brought the chicago book, and some reasoning with me. didn't have to invlove parents. i know the principal well, and he said "yeah give me a new form and i'll change it."

Railroad, my school is (surprisingly) a private one.

Excellent - glad you proved me wrong on this one, banedon17.
