My Georgetown Questions!

Hey everyone! I am so in love with Georgetown and would love to go there... it's just perfect in every aspect (at least to me)... my chances of getting in are very slim b/c my SAT scores are in the bottom 25%, but my brother did graduate 2nd in his class from their business school in 2000, and I'm applying to MSB as well. If you can answer any of the questions, I would appreciate it a LOT...

1.) Is it okay if I send two teacher recs? They require one from a social studies teacher, so my APUS teacher from last year is writing me one... but my English teacher who wrote them for all the other schools sent one in and on the COMMON APP not on Georgetown's-- I gave her theirs and she's sending the correct rec form in, but I'm worried they will count this against me

2.) Do you think it's a good idea for my brother to write a letter of recommendation for me? He did really well there, and now works for Goldman Sachs and is doing very well.

3.) I have a lot lot lot of extracurriculars and leadership positions, and I don't know if I should use my essay I've been sending with my common app (that's what I'd like to do) or make it something BUSINESS RELATED... anyone know? To be honest, I am not that big on business... I'm interested in going into it possibly but I don't think I could write a great essay. Mine is currently on my view of our environment and the environmental club and how i'm working to spread awareness, etc.

THANKS guys!! Hoyas are amazing :)

Wait they require a social teacher?!

I didn't recall them requiring a social teacher. I happened to use one, however, so...maybe that was a good thing.

I don't think it will hurt if ur bro writes one for u but ur alumni preference status. Did ur brother had similar stats and does he donates alot of money? If yes then i think u have a shot

i didn't know either until i read georgetown's teacher rec sheet, and it says if you're applying to MSB you need a rec from a social studies teacher or from a math teacher...

my brother did really well at MSB, graduated second in his class... he had higher SATs but similar grades and I definitely have more extra curriculars... ahhh i want to go there so badly!
