So this winter, as a sophomore girl, I visited Gettysburg as well as Dickinson, Bucknell and F&M.

So the campus is really nice. It's very pretty and well, yeah, it's very nice.

And the town it's in is very cute. There is colonial architecture and bright colors. The town is very historical, so I would expect a lot of tourists during the summer.

I felt a very good vibe there. My dad completely embarrassed me by stopping random college students and asking them questions, but it felt reassuring that most of them said they loved it there. He stopped one basketball player, and he said while the sports weren't very competitive, there is a lot of school spirit and attendence to many games. Thats good.

As I already said the campus is really nice, and I hear more good things about Gettysberg about good quality of life then the others.

Questions? Comments? I'd love to know that some people are reading this and I didn't waste my time typing these. I also reviewed Bucknell, Dickinson, and F&M, so check out those forums.

hi, i'm an international who applied ED2 and i have talked with a gettysburg student. yes, you're right. i was told that the campus was gorgeous and food, housing there are fantastic.

I haven't checked this website out in quite a while as my son is well into his freshman year alreay and we have completely forgotten the stress of college searching and waiting to get in! My son is VERY happy at Gettsyburg...we love to visit him...the town is charming and the kids are hardworking and happy. The environment is fun and the curriculum challenging. He has made great friends and many play on various teams. We have one kid from our town who plays on a team and was a top notch athlete...really taking Gettysburg to new levels in this particular sport. If you aren't craving a big city, and love the historical/tourist aspect of Gettysburg, this is a great choice. We visited all of the schools on your list and this was at the top for us as a family. Seems like our intuition was right on, as we have a son who loves his school. Food is great (although there is mainly one place to eat), school spirit is there, and Baltimore, and DC are about 1 hour away. My son skis a lot too, there seem to be good options for that on weekends. Most kids seem to come from NY/NJ/CT/PA...and they really stay in touch over breaks. Teachers are very passionate and accessible. Hope that helps.

Oh thats really nice to know.
I really did like GB a lot, even though I hadn't heard of it before.
I had heard of the other 3 because my parents taught at the other 3 but they really liked it too. I would love to go there! Now I have to worry about getting in and getting my tuition exchange scholarship...
