My GPA and grades are terrible..:(

I have a 3.75 unweighted GPA and a huge downward trend.
Can I still qualify for scholarships? I can't get financial aid.

What’s wrong with a 3.7 GPA? Honestly it’s not like you have a 2.0

I got a C and 3 B’s this semester. That’s awful.
A 3.7 is a lot lower than many people.

There is nothing wrong with your GPA, however, your downward trend might be problematic, because it suggests that your freshman year grades were fantastic and basically allowed you to have a “buffer” so to speak for you to screw up later on in high school while still manage a decent GPA.

For instance, I know kids with a 3.75ish GPA as Juniors, but they had 3.9’s Freshman year, so that might pose some type of a problem in terms of colleges and whatnot.

A 3.75 is great. I wish I had that GPA. It depends what grade you’re in and the rigor of your classes also though.

When I clicked on this thread I was expecting to see a <2.5 GPA. 3.75 is nothing to fret about. Just grab your “can do” attitude and get some A’s.

^
It’s College Confidential, so I was expecting to see someone complaining about a 3.99999999999999999999 or something.

I’m a junior.
Sorry. It just feels really low. My class rank is 53/336, too…

I have no sympathy seeing how I am a senior with 3.4UW and the top 40% of my class. hmmmm yet I still have got into selective colleges…

What selective colleges? o.o

I might still have hope…

case
umiami
fordham
villanova…so on…
you do realize that a 3,75 uw is equal to a A- minus average. Plus getting admitted into college is more than just being a number

I suppose it depends on where you plan on going.
Honestly a 3.75 is pretty mediocre, in fact, quite bad when you think about the colleges I’m hoping on applying too.

I’m never going to be able to get into any top colleges because of my GPA. There’s a number of competitive scholarships that I’ll probably never qualify for because of my GPA.

While it is more than being a number, the numbers do play a very significant role.

^^^ i think you are missing the point that everyone on this thread is trying to tell you a 3.75 GPA is not bad for any college you are applying to even HYPS. Yes numbers to play a significant role they are not the only factor. U could have a 4.0 Gpa and still be rejected. seeing how you are a junior now your GPA will NOT change that much in the upcoming year. I would focus on other things besides how “low” your GPA is. Test scores, personal, statement, and essays would be a nice option.

Who cares. Find something more useful to strive toward.

Also not going to HYPS would be the death of you. Most people in the world dont go there anyway…

3.75 is really bad for HYPS…not sure where you’re getting your information from.
It may seem pretty high to you in retrospect, considering your GPA, but honestly, it’s not. It’s somewhere in the 25th percentile.

I’m sorry that I have high goals.

Ew and yuck!!!

I am not going to argue with you because ultimately this is your life and your decision to stress over trivial things. Yes your GPA is a trivial matter. Regardless of 3.7 GPA or higher being accepted to these school are difficult…not impossible. 6 to 9% of the people who apply to these schools are ultimately not accepted. Having the perfect GPA won’t guarantee you a spot. Point is you CAN be accepted over someone with a 4.0 GPA if you come across as a more interesting person. Also you can be rejected. People are not rejected form a school simply because they do not have that “perfect” GPA.
Additionally do not compare yourself other people because your grades are your grades and YOU worked for them no matter what the final grade was in the course.

Also do not apologize for having high goals just present more rational logic then having a low “GPA” as the only reason you don’t have a fair shot at getting into HYPS. Everyone has a fair shot. believe it or not! Some may have a better shot than others but it is still fair game. P.S. If you look through more CC threads you will see that plenty of people are being rejected with 4.0 while people are being accpeted with lower GPAs at these schools.

oh BTW I am not that offended by the fact that you think my GPA is low. Maybe it is maybe it isn’t. Well apparently the colleges I applied to didn’t think so and their opinion matters to me more than yours. Regardless of what you think I AM DONE the college process and you are the one seeking help. Am I right? If you don’t want opinions that you do not like don’t post such questions.

Can’t tell if ■■■■■, attention *****, or just a plain jerk. Stop fishing for compliments. You know what situation you’re in.

You’re a failure. HYPS will never accept you. Good job for ruining your life with 3 Bs and a C!!!
