my gpa blows

my gpa only of freshman year is a 3.5 (i'm about to end sophomore year and idk what my gpa is)
absolutely terrible....
but i only take honors/ap classes! i have the most difficult courseload in my grade. no one is taking more aps than me next year if not the same amount.
if i get a good score on the sat i.e 2200+ am i ok academically?
everything else i'm fine with. by senior will, i will have a few leadership roles, varsity sports, used to be a boss at piano got honorable mention in an international competition in 6th grade (does that still count?? or does only high school stuff matter. its only one of a couple of piano awards that are all 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, honorable mention is my worst award), good at art and photography not exactly like the next picasso amazing most talented ever but i'm pretty good.

will my gpa ruin all chances of going to usc or any other respectable university (i really like u michigan i would be out of state) for me :( :( :( :(

A hobby is a hobby(piano) weather you are any good at it or not. You do it because you enjoy it. Try to pull yourself together senior year. Take a class this summer in something you boomed in high school and show you can do better. Improvements in junior year look very favorable only if you know what you have done wrong in the past and have fixed it. Good luck. There is plenty of time!

You have a 3.5 for just freshman year? If you get it up you should be fine. Freshman grades are weighted much less heavily than junior and first semester senior. Study hard (for school and the SAT) and hopefully you’ll have a good shot. Good luck!
