MY GPA Compared to my SATS

Hey guys i am a little nervous about applying to schools. Well my freshman year i really screwed up and got all C's and got a 2.2 GPA. My Sophomore year I did a bit better and had a 2.6(b-). Last year (junior year) I carried a 2.92 Which is like an 82.3, and this year I have a 3.3 with still taking hard classes. I have never taken an AP Class, but I am in all Level 1's and Honors. So my GPA is now about a 2.6 and will probably go up to a 2.7 (an 80, b-) after this semester.

Now for SAT scores, well I did pretty good, and a lot better than most kids at my school. I would say i beat probably 80-85%. I got an 1190/1600 and a 1760/2400.

How much is my GPA going to hurt me when I am applying. I really want to go to Bryant, but their average GPA is a 3.4, but SATS only an 1150.

Thanks,

Dave.

Well, schools claim they give more weight to GPA than SATs, and while I think this is true, I don't think the gap is as big as they claim.

Still, given your GPA, Bryant is a reach unless you have good EC's/essays/character, etc.

Holy crap, I've finally found someone like me. I got an 1850 first shot, but have a 2.5.

Any help would be appreciated for me, too.

what are your ECs like

Italian Club 4 Years
Soccer 4 years
Key Club 1 Year
Student Council 3 years
Volunteer Soccer Coach 2 years

I would say that i have great character and i am very confident in myself, so hopefully my interview at bryant helps me.

up.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

you have the fact that you are a guy working in your favor also your upward trend shows growth, your SAT scores show innate brain power and your ECs show some leadership. I can't guess but good luck.

BTW my D has the opposite problem excellent GPA but her SAT is just below where it needs to be to make her #1 choice a match. Seriously I hope you get in. And if you can send her some positive acceptance vibes it would be much appreciated ;)
