Please chance me. A percent would be more helpful so that I could get a more precise idea of my chances.

I would say you are a shoe in at UVM and bates. you're also looking real good at BC, colby, tufts and Connecticut college. I would say bowdoin and colgate are certainly harder to get into; I would estimate like 40-45% for both of those for you, maybe a little higher, but they are both small schools and thus will be hard to get into for most people. McGill is an interesting situation: have you already applied? They have "rolling admissions" which is, if you don't know, a system in which they accept qualified applicants as soon as their applications are sent in. Thus, it benefits you to send in your application as soon as possible. If you've already sent it in, I'd say you have about a 65-75% chance of getting into mcgill but if you're waiting, that estimate will drop, just because they will keep accepting people until they have enough and then you will get waitlisted after that even if you are an extremely qualified applicant. Hope this helps a little and please check out my thread! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/583457-how-likely-i-will-get-into-williams.html

You're DEFINITELY qualified for ALL of those schools. I'd say that not a single one is a reach, all are matches or lower. Don't sell yourself short, apply to some IVIES!

Unless of course your GPA is worse than it sounds...
What is it unweighted?

If you're at a 4.419 and you're just barely in the top 20%... Then maybe its out of 5 or something?

If the UW GPA is lower, then its a different story. Get back to us!

I don't think my school does unweighted GPAs

I've never gotten under a B in anything. I almost always get A/A- in math and science courses. B+ in English B+/A- in History and B in Latin courses

he doesn't have to apply to ivys if he doesn't want to... and none of those schools would be "selling yourself short" (well maybe UVM, but I digress). I know someone who went to cornell and was miserable and I also know someone who is at Harvard and feels she is unchallenged and unmotivated. Also: look at his list... 5/9 are small liberal arts school, then there's the 20,000 student mcgill, BC, UVM and tufts all schools very different from the ivys. He probably isn't looking at the ivys for a reason

Also, the SAT score I got was in 1 sitting (I only took it once) My writing multiple choice score was perfect my essay got 9/12 and killed me =

I assume the OP is applying ED to Tufts because that is his first choice school, not for any implied admissions "boost." He has already decided on where he is applying -- i.e., he has done his research and decided that these particular schools are the best fit for him. He has some truly excellent schools on his list and the qualifications to get into most of the schools on his list, if not all.

Do you have a USCF rating/ has your chess team or you won any tournaments? I think talking about the successes of your club will give us a better idea of the strength of your ECs. Also, to bad you didn't take the Oct SATs. 80 MC + 9 Essay = 800

You've good a great shot at all of your schools except UVM. Maybe if you boosted those SAT scores…

I was kidding about UVM :) What state do you live in? I'm 1940 and live in Maine. I would absolutely die to have the other four boards be 1450. My next highest board is <1100 :(
