sorry but a 1 in psych? isnt that the easiest ap

where do you wanna go?

i told you my grades suck :/

uhm, boston university most likely.

I don't understand why you're choosing such rigorous classes if you're not up to the work. Even if you feel like you're intelligent enough to be there, it looks like you're not quite motivated enough to do the necessary classwork and you should take classes where your lack of motivation won't hurt you so much. And if you are motivated and are working as hard as you can, then a slightly lighter schedule will certainly do you some good, not least in the self-esteem department. Why not change some of those honors and APs and get A's and B's instead of C's and D's?

Then sneeze on some fleas? Pass the peas, please. (sorry, I got sudden inspiration).

And btw, what are you looking for in responses to this? Chances? Suggestions? Sympathy? Advice?

just wondering if anyone else has been accepted to a good university with similar grades :)

why don't you make a list of the colleges you want to go to so people can tell you where you have a chance of getting into...

ok here is the list:
- boston university
- university of maryland: college park
- mit
- johns hopkins
- colombia
- cornell

Grades just won't cut it for MIT, Columbia, Cornell and JHU. I dunno about Boston University. Doesn't your school have like certain GPA requirements for more advanced classes? For example, you got a D in Honors Chemistry so why would your high school allow you into AP Biology? Same thing for Honors Algebra and Precalc. At my high school at least, students must have obtained at least a B average in honors to go into AP.

How did you manage a B in Religion? Aren't all the answers "God did it"? :P

yeah I really doubt you'd get into those schools...maybe BU maybe UMD

Well, for BU your SAT scores are in the middle 50%, but your GPA is low and your grades don't make you a particularly strong applicant.

As for MIT, JHU, Columbia, and Cornell, I'd have to agree with the poster above me. It'll probably be a reject, just because your grades are poor compared to the kind of applicant they usually accept.

Your grades suck, I doubt you have a 3.17 unweighted. It looks more like a 2.8. Your SAT isn't even good either. You won't get into any of the schools on that list except, with luck, UMCP. And that's with luck. Also, I would not take any AP classes next year if you wish to get in. Take all standard courses and get A's and B's...seriously.

I see lots of C's and D's and it's still 3.17 unweighted? Maybe all those classes have the same weight in the calculation of the unweighted GPA.
I would expect it to be under 3.00.

boston university: REJECT
university of maryland: college park: REJECT

Don't even bother with these:
mit: ABSOLUTELY REJECTED
johns hopkins: ABSOLUTELY REJECTED
colombia: ABSOLUTELY REJECTED
cornell: ABSOLUTELY REJECTED

Gaffe is sorta right.. BU is a big reach as well. You have quite a good number of D's and also a 610/520 isnt that high to counter those low grades...

ur gpa is not the problem. its the individual grades that are the problem.

Schools I suggest:
- Indiana University
- UMass (Amherst)
- Purdue University
- West virginia University
- University of Vermont

Those are all possiblities...

Make a new list with much more practical colleges, such as the ones that acarta07 (above poster) suggested.

yeah, 3.17 seems wrong, i calculated your gpa as a 2.6 on a four point scale.

if you really want to go to a good school, i would consider going to a community college for two years and getting your grades up and then trying to transfer.

Yeah your GPA is a 2.6 unweighted based on a 4.0 scale assuming no plus/minuses.
