My grades suck, now they're amazing.. Submit all transcripts!?

Okay so long story short, I started community college (COLLEGE A) right after high school (Class of '04). For the next 6 years I did horribly in all my classes (depression, apathy, drugs), getting D's F's W's, and some C's here and there. I don't know why I stayed in school, maybe because of pressure from parents or culturally, but yeah I was going in circles all those years. I ended up on probation several times and I think have a 1.8 or 2.0 GPA.

Anyways, this past year I started fresh at a community college (COLLEGE B) closer to home and have been doing amazing (because of my change of direction in life). I have 21 units under my belt and have maintained a solid 4.0 GPA! So I want to apply to schools after this fall when I will have completed 30+ units. But it just sucks because I have that crappy transcript from my past haunting me. And on my transcript at this school, it says "TRANSFER STUDENT"

So my question is, can I apply to schools with just this (COLLEGE B) transcript, even though it says "YOU MUST INCLUDE ALL TRANSCRIPTS"? I mean I know you sign the application honesty thing, but it just really sucks that my past is stuck to me and will probably bring my GPA down like crazy.. Do they really audit these things?

I really just want to go to a good school and have a future.. Please Help.. :(

Sincerely,
24 Year Old Born Again College Student In Dire Need Of Help...

Um…essay?

Yes they audit the app and yes you have to send the first college transcript. It would be bad if you got close to graduation and they threw you out for lying on your app.

Yes, and this is where they get information on where you’ve attended before, it’s very easy:

[National Student Clearinghouse: Degree verification & enrollment verification](http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/)

I don’t even think you’d get that far, between the statement on your College B transcript and the student clearinghouse, they’d reject your transfer application for suppressing information.

You should go ahead and apply after fall, but you may have to wait and complete more like 60 units to show that you really have turned around and make up for your old gpa. Yes, it sucks, but we all have to deal with the consequences of our past decisions. It may take you a little longer to get where you want to go, but if you keep up your current work ethic, you WILL get there.
