My counselor is so rude to me and most of the other kids who have her. She does not even look at you when you are talking and gives absolutely no decent advice whatsoever. Clashing with her is only going to lead to more problems down the road when I’m applying for colleges (I’m a soph; going to be a junior in sept). Does anyone else have this problem? What should i do?
I would have your patents call the department head and request a change. At my school they will honor those changes if you have a problem with your assigned counselor. If you go to a private school, then you may be stuck but the likelihood is that if your parents are paying tuition, they can possibly afford a private college counselor.
Eh, don’t know why she became counselor in the first place. If she’s not the head counselor, you could report it to that counselor who runs all of it. Do you ask her if something is bothering her? :-j
Can you make appointments with other counselors? That might be helpful in the short run and you can maybe even get the new counselor to write letters of rec for you instead.
Does your school have a College Placement Office? In my school, kids receive a College Placement Counselor as Seniors.
