My ***Gulp*** chances

I really would like to attend Yale or Cornell (maybe Harvard) and would appreciate if you could honestly tell me my chances.

GPA: (100 pt scale) uw. 94.324 w. 98.457

Rank: 2/332 (close though , this semester might move me to #1- very competitive public school)

THE PROBLEM: SAT I: m:600, v:650, writing:700 i do plan on retaking but these tests arent my thing.

SAT II: bio-m: 750, math iic: 800, spanish: 680

ECs:
NHS
Key Club Pres.
basketball cocaptain
mu alpha theta treasurer
academic team cocaptain

solid recs and essays

a few department awards, honor roll, etc

what do you think? do i have any chance?

Also--This is off topic but we hear of people getting perfect SAT scores. What about the HSPA? I know it's like 7/8 grade material, but how common is a perfect HSPA? is it something worth listing on an application?

I've never heard of the HSPA... sounds local...

Unless I'm wrong, your last chance to retake is Dec. 5th, correct? If you aren't already studying, start. If you are, keep it up. Raising those scores will help your chances a lot.

Polish those essays up too. Make them shine. That's a reasonably easy way to boost your chances...

Your ECs look pretty good... not too many activities, but your positions make you look like you were very involved with them.

I'd say you have a decent chance if you raise your scores by 100-150+. Making valedictorian wouldn't hurt any either, so keep hitting the books.

I think that your bad sat I math score will be offset by your 800 IIc.

Are you a recruited athlete? The "average applicant", with scores significantly higher than yours, and including all the legacies, desired URMs, recruited athletes, etc., have odds of 1:11 at HY, and about 1:6 at Cornell. You can figure it out from there.

Study a lot for your SAT I and maybe take another SAT II. How did you get an 800 Math IIC and a 650 Math SAT? Anway, all you have to do is prep a little to get better scores on your SAT. And then being ranked #1 will help. Write amazing essays...

yeah dude, something strikes me as very odd with this picture. How are your SAT II scores so strong. However, as I recall a Columbia admissions officer once describing a kid with a 1150 and 5 800 SAT II scores across the board, she said he was admitted to not just Columbia, but Harvard took him as well.

Good luck
