Our in-state universities in NY are only $20k. US citizens can also attend college as out-of-state students more cheaply in Maine, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Mexico, Colorado, South Dakota, Georgia, Oklahoma, and probably many more that I don’t have time to look up.

Excellent point plus for people with great need at need blind schools college can be almost free. There are some schools like Temple that even give students a stipend. The problem is for the average student economically and academically at a LAC, it is just not affordable. Honestly in state in the UCs is not either at 30k

Please meet with your guidance counselor as soon as possible. Something was seriously wrong with your selection process if you were accepted nowhere. Unless you were a recruited athlete, I can’t imagine why you even applied to HYPS with a 1910 SAT score. Just because they are amongst the few with need blind admissions for internationals doesn’t make them appropriate for the majority of international applicants. Your chances of admission to this tier on reapplication or transfer approaches zero. I’m hoping your waitlist options come through for you with admission and lots of money but what you heard about limited funding for internationals off the waitlist may be true.
@YaleGradandDad there may be nothing wrong with OP’s application. It’s a common thing for international students seeking for aid (especially huge amount of aid like in OP’s case) to get virtually rejected everywhere.
It’s very, very common for international applicants to be accepted nowhere on the first try. The second chance only happens if they have $25,000 (and considering it can be ten times an annual salary in most emerging countries, it’s rare). But imagine TheZealot has $25,000: there are some excellent colleges that will have calculated yield wrong and will have spots, sometimes with financial aid. The list will be published by NACAC on the 4th or 5th of May.
TheZealot can also apply right to Hendrix, and EXCELLENT school but lacking in applications due to its selectivity (the students must be strong) and location (Arkansas). https://www.hendrix.edu/
But this student wants/needs 100% aid. Very, VERY unlikely they will get significant aid, especially at this point. There are schools still accepting applications, but they may expect the student to provide proof that they can fund college.
