UCDalum82, that's so true for our school!!! We have so many classes but most of our pass rates are LOW!!! Thank goodness I have a perfect 5 record so far..
Bay, our school is very competitive... as we have 4000 students total... also, this year we had 1 Harvard accept, 4 Stanford, 1 Caltech, 2 Brown, 1 Yale, 3 Upenn, 2 Cornell and 30+ UCB or UCLA... so yes we are extremely competitive...

My progression however is very weird... of the ones who got into top schools, they mostly had either 0,2,4,5 or 1,3,4,5 or 0,2,3,5 ...

As you can see, all have a progression... Unfortunately in my case, I'm
0,3,3,6

This is my biggest worry... I'm afraid colleges will think "oh he's taking 6 all the sudden because it's his senior year and AP scores won't count that much and neither the second semester grade...

catfish... I think they do, but mine is unofficial... and thus my worry... They make you do a huge process... it's ridiculuous... interviews, parent conferences, teachers recs hahahaha

How do you take them if your school doesn't let you? The surrounding schools nearby wouldn't let me take them either because i don't go to the same school. Is there like an independent test center? Thanks!

yes, but going back to my question... I'm shooting for HYPS...

My progression is 0,3,3,6 (not that great of a progression huh?)... I'm just concerned that colleges will think I'm all the sudden taking 6 because they probably guess I'll slack off by second semester with severely blown senioritis haha

Do private schools really prepare you that well for college? I mean....according to AP scores, private schools don't prepare kids that much better, so why are they preferred so much?

Guess I should recommend going to private schools now to all those Asian parents that call me asking me to help their kids...

9: none
10: AP Music Theory (5), AP Calculus AB (5), AP World History (5)
11: AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Psychology
12: AP Chinese, AP Literature, AP Physics B, AP Statistics, AP MacroEcon

thats good you'll be fine. The problem with CC is that most of these guys have been taking 7 APs a year since 9th grade, but most people arent like that.

Especially because you already took 3 APs in 10th grade

In public schools you can't start taking AP classes till junior year and you can only take like 4 a year tops. So you'll have way more AP classes then most. Colleges are looking for a rigorous course load, which you have. Not whoever has taken the most APs. Especially when they see people who are taking APs just to take APs. That's my take on it anyway.
