Thank you for your estimates.

Your SAT score is good enough to get your foot in the door.

The ON-CAMPUS interview will help you a lot, perhaps you may get an opportunity to talk with some in admissions. If you make your passion notable, I think that really helps.

My major concern is that I think JHU focuses a lot on GPA, and how well you perform in high school. If you really do show an upward trend, I think you'll be fine.

The wierd thing is... my state rep told me that GPA is not a factor in early admission.... the real deal breaker is strength in cirriculum.... so I was like thank god... do you know anything about this?

makes sense. they want to see kids challenging themselves with a tough course load at high school to make sure they can cut it at hopkins. but it also reflects very well on the applicant to show that not only did they have a very difficult courseload...they were still able to thrive with one.

astrife -- to respond to your question and clear up the issue a bit -- all factors are looking at when the adcoms review your application, whether it be ED or RD. Clearly with how selective JHU is, they need to review every bit of your application - your GPA, your test scores, your curriculum, your resume, your essays, your recs., etc.

The review of your transcript, overall grades and curriculum, is the most important factor in the adcoms review. The review of your resume and essays is consider next in importance, and then recs and test scores.

Simply put, everything matters!

Good luck.

Your essays count more then your test scores!? That's a shocker.
