I have applied to Princeton University. They require 3 SAT II Tests, but I have only taken TWO and it is too late to take another. So straight answer, does that mean I'm out? My other scores and entire resume are good. 2330 on SAT I, 34 on ACT, 760 Math subject test, 730 Biology subject test. I'm still gonna get kicked right? Any chance it's flexible?

Call Princeton; I think I have finally found someone that does better on SAT than ACT.

No. You are not by any means automatically rejected, but it does hurt your chances a little bit. If everything else is great, they will still accept you regardless.

Definitely call Princeton and talk to them. I think your chances of getting in are slim, but if you explain everything to them, you won’t be out be default. Good luck!

Talk to them ASAP

I agree with calling Princeton immediately:
However, I don’t see a whole lot of wiggle room. It says at least 3 times on the web page that three SAT Subject Tests are required. http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/standardized_testing/
To me, contrary to sprtn117’s opinion, that means that if you don’t submit 3, your application is incomplete and will not even be reviewed. Why should not submitting 3 be any different than not submitting the SAT I, or not submitting your transcript? You didn’t meet the requirements for admission.

And I’m not sure that saying “I didn’t have time” will wash - you had at least 2 years to make sure that you took the tests. This was something within your control, and you didn’t do it.

But by all means, call them - perhaps they will be more forgiving than I.

I emailed the admissions office last night and I’ve yet to receive a response. I pray they’ll review my application, even if it calls for intensified standards.

Call them- use a PHONE.

I know of someone who applied to another Ivy U but was rejected because she didn’t do enough SAT IIs on time. Unfortunately, it is up to the applicant to carefully review the contents on the website and the application instructions. Even if Princeton reviews the application, the omission of the third required SAT II will send a message and reveal something re. his/her interest in Princeton.
