My Interview is tomorrow and I was wondering what should I do/bring?

My interview with a Gtown Rep is tomorrow and I was wondering if I needed to/should bring any of the following:

My Resume (Outline of my extra-curricular and community service works)

My two essays that I am writing for Gtown (Though I am not done with them, should I try to finish it up or print out what I have or just not bring it all becuase since I am there, I can describe myself without him having to read my essay.)

The Magazine I helped publish

The winning essay that I wrote (Won me a laptop and coverage in the news)

Is it okay if I bring like two of the above or is it advised not to broing anything to the meeting?

Oh and do I need to bring like an ID or something/the Gtown letter with my name and the name of the interviewere (for like offical purposes I mean.)

And what should I wear? Since we are meeting at a public cafe, I am not going to wear a suit but I guess I will just put on a shirt, tie, and drance pants. Is that okay?

Also, does anyone have any idea what questions they might ask?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have experience yet with interviews at selective colleges. (Only at my safeties) But I don't think you need to bring your essay. You can take your award winning one and the magazine, but only show it if the subject comes up. Don't force it. Don't bring your resume. They will see that when your application is reviewed. This isn't "the review." As for clothing, I even think that is a little too much at a cafe. (I assume you mean a starbucks-like location.) I suggest wearing a nice polo shirt and semi-casual pants. In other words, don't wear jeans. That is what I have been wearing at every open house and interview, and it works.

splintercell: I had my G-town interview last week, at the interviewer's house. It was pretty informal (probably since we got along very well, and chatted a lot outside the questions). She asked me about my family, my grade school, why specifically georgetown, why my specific major, and then asked about my extracurriculars. I would recommend not bringing a bunch of stuff (ie resume and essays) because it makes it more stressful and uptight than it needs to be. The only thing I showed her of mine was a copy of the newspaper that I'm the editor of, and it was only by pure luck that I had one floating around in my bag. I'd suggest just bringing the magazine and your questions about the school.

In short: relax, dress presentably but not too professionally, and be yourself.
You'll do great!

(oh, and you don't need to bring a bunch of identifying information.)

"And what should I wear? Since we are meeting at a public cafe, I am not going to wear a suit but I guess I will just put on a shirt, tie, and drance pants. Is that okay?"

That's a bit overdressed for a cafe. A shirt that buttons, long pants that aren't jeans, a belt and shoes, not sandals, probably would be fine. That's what students usually wear when they interview with me in cafes.

Plan to get there early, which will help you get there on time in case there are unexpected problems with transportation, parking, etc.

If you get there first, don't bury your head in a book, but get a table and keep your head up, looking around for the interviewer. A couple of years ago, a parent posted on CC that her kid missed an interviewer because the interviewer couldn't find her. The kid had kept her head buried in a book, and the interviewer didn't notice her because the interviewer assumed that if the student was interested in an interview, she would have been looking up to spot the interviewer. The student came across as either being incredibly shy or not interested in the interview.

i'm having an MIT interview soon and the guy told me just to bring myslef. As for clothes, dress shirt and pants should be good enough. tie isnt really necessary unless you really want to.

I'm having my GTown interview tomorrow :) I'm excited.

We're meeting at Starbucks and I'm wearing a nice striped button down shirt with jeans and loafers. I'm a girl btw.
