my interview

for all those people who have yet to be interviewed, heres my experience on the cornell interview:

well i was scheduled for saturday morning interview at starbucks...i woke up and started throwing up, and just felt sick, so i asked her if she could change it....(i asked her last minute), and she was cool with it...

on sunday:my interviewer: we just talked, i asked her questions abt her experiences, what she majored in, and stuff like that. if was more of an informative session. she even said this interview is for informational purposes, as opposed to actually counting in the admission process. she did however ask me my interests, and why i want to major in bio, and what other experience i had in this field (competition, work experience, etc). i no that she did write up a sheet for me, cause shes like: is there anything u want me to stress in "my write-up" for you.

so i hope that helped...

-CU 2009 CALS Bio SCI

I had an interview this past Thursday at my local Starbucks, too!

The woman I met with was awesome- I had to reschedule once too because my exams got pushed out because of all the snow; she was extremely understanding and we met the next day. I could tell just from our brief phone conversation that she was an extremely personable person, and she was! We chatted for over an hour... she was an AnSci major so she was able to tell me lots about specific programs and life at CALS. She also said that she has to fill out a form online, and I hope that I've given her enough good things to say about me!

Best of luck!

Yeah its called an Alumni Report on the cornell alumni site.

You sounded mad scared sternie. I have to admit I was a bit nervous going into my first interview (w/ an adcom at U rochester), but it was exactly how people described it. And that was an interview interview, not an information interview. I kind of wish I had had an alumni interview @ cornell, but oh well, i'm content with ED acceptance haha ;)

i actually was very calm about it. the reason i threw up was well i guess wrong food....chinese/indian food has too much msg, and makes me nauseaus

oh haha...well props on your calmness...I mean I was calm once I sat down, but waiting and stuff I was flipping out on the inside...I always act like that, in taekwondo, baseball, band. Flip out->calm

wait..they do write-ups of you??? i thought they siad that it doesn't mean anything. i wish they would just tell us the truth. is that what really happens??

It might differ depending on the alumnist you talk to. I had mine with a CAS graduate, and he had no paper, forms, or write-ups whatsoever.

My alum dude said that they are required to fill out a little form for you...but he didn't really say how in depth the form was. However, he did say like 5000 times that they really don't have any say in the admissions process. Mine was really really informal, he was just like chillin and talkin about his college experiences...even partying! :D

same with mine nickyjane....she was really informal

the form is on the cornell alum website; its called an alumni report
