<p>I actually turned down a job offer at DD months ago just to be a waitress at a local restaurant. Worst decision ever.</p>

<p>As a teenager, that’s not really true. I’m 17 and most jobs I can get at this age would be minimum wage, so restaurant jobs pay a LOT more because they’re minimum wage + tips.</p>

<p>No… you don’t get minimum wage all the time. Restaurants can pay you less than minimum wage as long as with tips, you make minimum wage. I have friends who work for ~$3/hour + tips. So it’s minimum wage INCLUDING tips.</p>

<p>Oh, well, I think the law is different in Washington State, because as a busser I make minimum wage + tips, and the waiters do as well, they just get more tips than I do.</p>
