-newspaper writer for 11th/12th grades
-swimmer for both school and club team=our school division sucks, so i win a lot of stuff and go to sectionals by default. however, i am only ok and would not be able to swim at a level above D3.

I expect my essays to be good but not wonderful, and at least one of my regular recs will be great. I expect good interviews, because i am good at making people like me once i meet them :)

SO, sorry for the long post, congratulations if you read it. Chance me?

P.S.-my PSAT score is 240. will that help me or not?

Colleges don't see your PSAT score.
Yale-SCEA/ defer? in?
Dartmouth/in
Princeton/waitlist? reject?
Columbia/in
WUSTL/in
UPenn/in
Georgetown/in
BC/in
U of Rochester/in
Safety: local SUNY school.../haha they might reject you 'cause they know you would only go as a last resort. apply to Binghamton.

You have a good chance of getting into all the schools you've listed. Excellent SAT scores... what's your GPA/rank?

It looks like you'll get in to the schools, but you can never be certain... so good luck!

yeah my school doesnt rank but i would be in like the top 3 at least i think.

my unweighted is 4.0, and i dont know my weighted because my school is very secretive about our transcripts and stuff for some reason

also, p-izzle and icanread, were you guys serious about the reject at the suny school? :)

They were serious.

bump. any other opinions?

amazing scores and GPA/rank, above-average EC's (better than average because of your research)

try very hard to be published as the principal author before you apply. That'll help you quite a bit.

Yale-SCEA - 50/50
Dartmouth - 80/20
Princeton - 25/75
Columbia - 80/20
WUSTL - in
UPenn - 80/20
Georgetown - in
BC - in
U of Rochester - in
Safety: local SUNY school... - in

thanks coolness, thats pretty much what i was thinking too.

except on WUSTL...i thought it was harder to go in to than that?

Why do you guys consider Princeton harder to get into than Yale?

because the OP is applying to Yale SCEA, which generally increases his/her chances.

Yes we're serious SUNY will reject you.

are top ivy league schools that hard to get into? phurley's resume looks darn good to me and its better than mine haha so now youre making me really nervous if phurley is only good enough for "waitlist" at princeton

you guys are way too nice w/his chances @ UPenn

well, yes, they are that hard to get into.

especially this year, with the elimination of many early programs

pdef, i think theyre going easy on penn because of the belief that penn is more stats-based in admissions, and i have good stats.

Good SAT 1 score, good GPA, OK extracurriculars.
Unless you get your paper published...I don't see anything special.
Hopefully you're not Asian.

Yale-SCEA: Unlikely
Dartmouth: Maybe
Princeton: Unlikely
Columbia: Maybe
