I think you are qualified for a few of the schools listed but you are an international applicant. This puts you straight in a pool of applicants of the highest caliber with perfect test scores and professional accolades under their belts. They will more than likely push you out of the admit pile at the most prestigious institutions but you will have a shot at a few of the other ones.
1)Stanford: High Reach
2) UT Austin: Low Match
3)UCLA: High Match
4)UIUC: Match
5)Cornell: Reach
6) Caltech: High Reach
7)Dartmouth: Reach
8)Brown: Reach
9)Georgia Tech: High Match
10)Purdue: no idea
11)Harvard: High Reach
12)Swarthmore: no idea
13) UMich: High Match
@Homeless2Harvard Do I have a decent shot at Cornell?
Every school on here is a reach for you. You should take Michigan and UCLA off your list because you will be full pay and based on your budget, you wouldn’t be able to afford them. For the schools that do meet full need, you are an international student which will make it even harder for you to get in. In addition, some of these schools are need aware for international students and applying for aid will decrease your chances. I’m sorry, but anyone who is saying you are “in” at any of these schools is wrong. You aren’t in at any of them and for the ones that you have the best shot at getting into, you will not be able to afford anyway.
@CaliCash I meant I can afford 45k without lots of financial constraints, I can afford all the colleges on the list if needs be, though I might have to take a small loan for some of them…Seriously Purdue and UIUC are reaches? I have seen several 1800-1900 SAT’s get accepted at both…Anyway thanks for your opinion
You are an international student. It changes the dynamics of admissions. Can your parents make $15,000 worth of financial contraints? Which will end up being $60,000 over four years? 1800-1900 won’t cut it at UIUC for engineering. Luckily, you are much higher than that, so you have an edge. But it isn’t a guaranteed acceptance.
From their website:
Middle 50%
ACT: 31 - 34
SAT: 1400 - 1510
High School Class Rank: 93% - 99%
TOEFL: 105-113
So this is a competitive applicant applicant pool.
^Purdue is a safety for OP. The only way he can get rejected is if he writes an essay on “I hate Purdue”.
@CaliCash Yes at worst I would end up with a 60k loan over 4 years which my parents can take care of if I fail to, they said it won’t be a problem as they have huge fixed deposits which could easily cover the entire cost of my education, but they don’t want use them unless it is absolutely required, so yes all schools would be affordable…
@CaliCash Do kids with my stats and scores get into colleges like Cornell, and others.
Yes, they do. It’s awkward a possibility. You’ve got the stats and you’ve clearly worked hard for the past 4 years. Now, all you can do is sit and wait.
1)Stanford - Too unpredictable.
2) UT Austin - You’re in
3)UCLA - In
4)UIUC - In
5)Cornell - Match
6)Caltech - Reach for anyone but you’re qualifications seem very fitting
7)Dartmouth - Low reach
8)Brown - Match/High Match
9)Georgia Tech - Match
10)Purdue - In
11)Harvard - Reach
12)Swarthmore - Match
13) UMich - Match
@CaliCash @ShowMeState700 Thanks for the reviews
LOL, Dude im from India and im pretty sure u just faked half the things on your application.
the national tennis ranks in india are compiled by AITA (which if u dont know, forget about playing) and your not there
plus you in hell did not lead your state in interstate competitions (their is only Zonal competitions)
LOL
dude more or less everything u wrote is falthu and it will come to bite you back
@thekoolkid Dude the tournament I won was an AITA tournament…I have been on the circuit for 5 years…And the interstate nationals are conducted not by the AITA, but directly by the Indian Government under the SGFI ( School Games Federation of India) and is the most prestigious junior tennis tournament in India in case you did not know…I have been felicitated by my state’s government kiddo and my name has appeared in the newspapers on multiple occasions…The Zonal competitions are conducted by CBSE, the interstate by the Indian Government, get it?
@thekoolkid My AITA rank was 134 in U-18 when I was just 15…My rank has slipped this year due to injuries and not playing a lot due to workload in class 12th…Stop judging others, kid…I have seen you judge so many kids on so many different forums, why are you so insecure?
@thekoolkid If you want to know more I could PM you my name, but you’re just not worth it.

Yeah I think you seriously have a shot at Cornell.
Chance me backhttp://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/17963228#Comment_17963228
My goodness, a need aware school for internationals like Swarthmore and an Ivy League like Brown is not a match.
@CaliCash I am not stupid enough to believe that they are matches. I believe only some public schools to be my match schools, that too, not all. But, I believe I have a decent chance at most of the schools I am applying to, and if luck favours me, I should get into one of them.
@Homeless2Harvard I have chanced you already.
