My last cornell chances thread EVER!

<p>So I promise this will be my last cornell chances thread EVER(I'm a little sad actually :) )! I applied last week so here is my updated chances that won't be changing! (It's so scary to think that I'm done applying besides maybe alum interview and that it's all out of my hands now.) So please tell me my chances and what you think might kill me or really help me. This is my dream school and I'll prob be in debt for years if I get in. So the way I see it if I get in it's great, and if if I don't I can try to console myself by saying that at least I won't be 100,000 in debt. Right now I feel like my chances are 50/50 leaning more towards the pessimistic side. I really need an outside perspective. Please be honest. Thanks. </p>

SAT IIs: USH: 690 Literature: 740</p>

<p>GPA- i don't know how to convert the scale but A-A+
Rank - 5/500</p>

Learning center program at hs for english/history/arts stuff (instead of regular hs)</p>

<p>Essays- common app one was really good, cornell one was good, but I can't tell how good</p>

<p>recs- good (very personal) 1. was great, 2. was okay
gc rec- didn't see, but know gc very well</p>

<p>CAS Biology major interested in neuroscience/genetics but love writing
Applied Early decision</p>

<p>So worried, but excited! Can't wait for dec. 15!
P.S. Anyone who wants to distract me so time passes quicker please help me! Or if you know how to bend the laws of physics that too would be greatly appreciated! JK...kinda :)</p>

<p>I wouldn't be pessimistic, be optimistic: you're GPA and rank are great. Yes, your scores could be a little better but that could be offset by your good grades. They still aren't bad. Your ECs are ok; I'd say the best thing that you have is health magazine thing, but what do I know. If you wrote amazing essays, that can make every other bad thing go away. If Cornell is your dream school, I'm sure that your persona was jumping off of the page of your application. Good luck!!!!</p>

<p>Your GPA and rank look great - probably your strongest asset. SATs are decent; not great, but good enough. ECs are solid. Your enthusiasm is really cool, Cornell will probably see that. I'd say you have a good shot :)</p>
