I’m hoping to attend Rice University. I have a weighted gpa of 3.5 (unweighted hasn’t been realeased yet), I received a total of a 1250 on my PSAT. I am currently in my junior year, and I was curious if having my last name correspond with the name of the university I want to go to would increase my chances of getting accepted.
No.
Unless your family endowed several of their buildings, that would be a big NO.

Here’s a video that makes me question some of your responses.
I’m not saying your wrong, I just want you guys to be aware
Can you trace and document your ancestry to the Mr. Rice who founded the university?
It’s not likely, but I could try
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Quote from video with emphasis added:
If your last name is Gates and the name on the college library is Gates and it’s not a coincidence…
So, the video is not apropos in your case, since you’ve indicated that your shared surnames are coincidental. In the spirit of the mercy rule, closing thread.
