Jobs:
This past summer I was a sleepaway camp counselor, was the rock wall instructor.
I just got a job at the local YMCA as a rock wall instructor, work 9 hrs a week after school.

NYP, your list looks reasonable. GPA a little on a low side for Swarthmore, but they need baseball players too. ED is a good move there.

Do you intend to play ball at college? If yes and if you're recruitable, then I'd say you could expand your reach list. You sure look like Williams material to me (sports, outdoorsy activities) and many of your choices are quite similar in ambience --Though it's so obvious you must have x'ed it for a reason.

I'm sure you know that as a general statement LACs pay a lot of attention to essays, recommendations and demonstrated interest.

Understandable, Mbury is probably a reach...or are they both matches?
And yes, I plan to play ball at the D3 level in college, I'll be submitting a tape for the coach to review. Williams? I visited that first, and I gotta say...I might've gone crazy there. I didn't really like the campus, the people seemed slightly quirky, and the town/area was pretty isolated.

Any more comments? And thanks to those who responded.

Might check out Holy Cross-brand new $4million baseball complex that is also used by a minor league team-Worcester Tornadoes. HC is in the same league as Bucknell,also Holy Cross is only 1 hour to Boston.

I'm jewish...plus I don't really want any religioius affiliation. Thanks for the input though.

Bucknell's avg SAT is like 200 pts below mine...I beat 75% of the school by over 100 pts, and only 64% are in the top decile of their hs...they also accept 39% total. We've had kids from the 4th decile go their routinely (our school is very competitive as publics go)... Would you at least call it a safety/match?

Swarthmore, Haverford, Bowdoin, Middlebury are ALL matches. Bates and Bucknell are matches. Hampshire and Gettysburg are safeties. Everything else looks good. Be careful with Middlebury--show interest. They waitlisted about 20% of their applicants this year. And since you have Midd, Bowdoin, and Bates, why not Colby too? That would probably be a match for you as well.

You might try Brandeis as a safety/match, vassar may be a match (they attract many more women v. men); I think Bowdoin is a match;
are you only interested in LACs? How about Conn college, Trinity, Colgate v. present safeties? Haverford and Middlebury are easier to get into than Swarthmore which is rated most selective by US News.

Is Colgate a safety? And yea, LAC is pretty much my theme, I really like LACs vs. Unis. And are Gettysburg or Conn Col. safeties for me at least?
