My Low GPA at Tech

So I have a of 2.2 at Tech and if I manage to bring it up to a high 2 then what are my chances for getting a good job after i graduate?

P.S.
I will have no work experience.
I will have a BS in ChemE.

It’s going to be hard, you’ll have to work at it, and likely will have a limited number of jobs to choose from. It’s a lot better with 2.7, or 2.8 than 2.2, but it’s a competitive job market.

You’ll need to get your GPA up (as much as you can), while looking for ways to build up your resume. Do a co-op (internships tend to be even more GPA sensitive), work on a design team, try to get involved in research. Try to do something leadership related, do community work, adding anything to your resume is going to be better than simply listing your courses taken and GPA.

You’ve dug yourself a hole, now you need to do the work to get out of it.

Good Luck!

By the way, I have a close friend that graduated from Tech with a sub 2.5 GPA and had at one point been dropped due to low grades and had to reapply for admission. Today he’s a technical director for a top Fortune 500 company.

WOW thanks. I have a lot of credits left so it sould be easy to bring that GPA up.

Focus on improving you grades and don’t stress especially in you major. That is what really counts with the employers. Also do a co-op, summer job etc.
