<p>Browns new cog/ling/psych department literally makes me drool with nerdy nerdy love.</p>
<p>its a reach for me (and everyone else) but its definitely my number one college choice.</p>
<p>i hear ohio state and ucsc have cool linguistics departments but its kinda hard to find any schools that arent giant public schools or ivies that offer it</p>
<p>CMU offers a degree in cognitive science in the Psychology Department. They also have a great linguistics department. You can major in one and minor in the other.</p>
<p>Poster Keilexander did some great research on Linguistics and her posts were very helpful to our family.</p>
<p>She wanted a LAC with Ling and had financial need which really limited things. She also looked closely at the departments. Her stats were very high, which opens up some doors that may be shut otherwise. Her list of schools with a LING program included:</p>

<p>She did alert me to dig deep with questions – such as the number who go onto grad school and require remedial courses in certain areas (syntex).</p>
<p>Agree that “focused” major does limit you in the search department and can be more difficult to find information.</p>
